Mrubata-HauserMrubata - Hauser Project tours KwaZulu Natal

In association with Concerts SA, Seaman's Corner and Luthuli Museum, iSupport Music Business presents the Mrubata Hauser Project Live in concert. McCoy Mrubata, Mark Hauser and their band will visit Luthuli Museum in Groutville on Friday 10 February and Seaman's Corner in Hammarsdale on Saturday 11 February.

This collaboration came to life through a friendship which began in Switzerland when McCoy Mrubata and Mark Hauser were introduced by their mutual friend Mark Roth. The two Saxophone players hit it off immediately and over the years embarked on a project which looked at ways to exchange the music of the two continents - Africa and Europe. This concert is jammed with heavy hitters and their band features the cream of the crop of South African musicians: Paul Hanmer on keys, Thembinkosi Mavinbela on bass guitar and Bernice Boikanyo on drums, will be backing Mrubata on tenor saxophone and flute and Hauser on alto- and soprano saxophone.

Heels over Head’s music is referred to as smooth jazz or easy-breezy pop jazz, they developed a notable and clever signature sound that consists of current African-influenced music and uniquely re-arranged standards. The band is known for making the audience get on their feet and dance to their rhythmic bass lines and their cheerful melodies. No doubt that fans take joy in listening to some Heels over Head; the African jazz ambiance, skilled musicians and vocalists and well-founded rhythm works enchanting.

With their sparkling stage presence the ladies of Heels over Head always look classy and stylish and you cannot miss the charm and charisma of their lead vocalist Thulile Zama. She joined by skilled drummer Rebekah Doty and accomplished pianist Mandy Cobbing. Last but not least smoking hot guitarist Chillie Wardell-Stent joins the band and the flaming fusion of musicians is complete.
