Danielle Booysen

Danielle Booysen

Sometimes spirited, sometimes serene, always expressive, Danielle’s unique playing and singing style has entertained international audiences for over a decade now. Although she’s very much a play-by-ear (and by feel) musician, she was classically trained since the age of 8, holds a BA in Jazz & Popular Music, and has a repertoire of 350+ of her favourite songs.

Danielle has played in numerous bands throughout her career, including representing TUT at the Soweto Jazz Festival in 2007. She shared the stage in 2004 with Abdullah Ibrahim and Sibongile Khumalo at a KKNK Production, appeared on several TV shows, and had a jazz line-up which performed large government corporate functions.

In 2010 she started her 4-year adventure in Dubai, where she played thousands of solo and duo hotel gigs, award shows and parties.

Currently back in her hometown, Durban, she’s finally decided to get that original album together. You can catch her performances at leading local venues such as the Elangeni, Open Strings, and the latest edition: Saturday nights at Italian cuisine heaven La Pizza Pazza in Kloof.
